Sacrifice
Many sacrifices were made over the years inside the Temple of Heaven during the time of the Ming and Qing Dynasty. People believed that the only way to cleanse the soul was through bloodshed.

Here is the church, here is the steeple
Ever heard this 4 line nursery rhyme?
"Here's the church, and here's the steeple
Open the door and see all the people.
Here's the parson going upstairs,
And here he is saying his prayers"
China has a similar rhyme about The Temple of Heaven ending with a different hand symbol.

Architecture
The architecture of The Temple of heaven was built based on the shapes the sky and the earth. Three principle structures lie along the primary north-south axis of the structure, symbolizing the correct, and chosen path of "Holy."

Prayer
The Temple of Heaven was built for prayer - - and annual ceremonies - - put on by the Ming Dynasty and Qing Dynasty.

The Temple of Heaven
The Temple of heaven (Alter of heaven) has been around for over 600 years, and took nearly 14 years to build. It was constructed from 1406 to 1420 during the reign of the Yongle Emperor, who was also responsible for the construction of the Forbidden City The Temple of Heaven is located in Taoist Beijing, Xuanwu. It was originally created as a place for prayer and for annual ceremonies of thanks and praise to the Heavens.

Chang Jiang (Yangtze River); know for major major transportation artery for China
Xi Jiang (Pearl River); known for providing water to places and it small islands
Huang He (Yellow River); known as being the cradle of Chinese Civilization
Heilongjaing (Black Dragon River); known for its making of fertile land from the the nutritious water
