The Temple of Heaven

The Temple of heaven (Alter of heaven) has been around for over 600 years, and took nearly 14 years to build. It was constructed from 1406 to 1420 during the reign of the Yongle Emperor, who was also responsible for the construction of the Forbidden City The Temple of Heaven is located in Taoist Beijing, Xuanwu. It was originally created as a place for prayer and for annual ceremonies of thanks and praise to the Heavens.
